PIA today has over 2000 alumni from 35 countries and has linkages with several universities in India and Canada for course development, course teaching and internships.
I learned how to interact with the community through organic bonding and without judgement. Observation is essential, but questions should not be asked in a negative way.
It is important to stay curious without trying to rush change. We must always follow the proper procedure. Consent comes first when working with the community, and transparency is equally important. The process should be slow and thoughtful.
I truly understand the problem and build trust.
In the future, I want to work with the community, not over them.
What I found most valuable in the workshop was that it gave me insight into how to approach people and involve them by analysing the situation.
I learned the importance of understanding their background and inner voices by becoming familiar with them on a deeper level, not by asking direct questions.
It is not about collecting data; it is about empathy and how we show up for them.
The experience felt deeply impactful, and I felt like I was learning something that goes beyond the everyday perspective—something that helps me see life through a more meaningful lens.
