Gender equality is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of sustainable societies. While progress has been made globally, barriers such as discrimination, stereotypes and underrepresentation of women in leadership persist. Increasingly, stakeholders are recognizing the power of sport to challenge norms, provide safe spaces, and foster leadership and life skills for women and girls. This course introduces the essentials of using sport as a tool to promote gender equality. It helps individuals working in related fields build their understanding of how sport can empower women and girls and advance broader equality objectives.
This course has been designed for practitioners, development sector professionals, CSR professionals, government officials, policy makers, social workers, sports trainers and managers as well as researchers who have limited insight into S4D, but are interested in building their knowledge and capacity to integrate S4D approaches within their overall development frameworks, in particular those focusing on gender and equality.
This course involves self-paced learning where participants engage with text-based content, case studies, infographics, and links to further readings. From the time of your first login, you will be provided a time period of two weeks to complete the course. The course is designed for learners to complete within 10 hours.
